Irregular Spray Jet from The Nozzle: Pressure Gauge Is Showing Low Pressure

Problem:

The high pressure cleaner is not spraying properly and the high pressure gauge on the machine shows a lower pressure than it should.

Cause:

The leading cause of this is most likely the valves in the high pressure cleaner that have become soiled or sticky.

High pressure cleaner gauge is low and water coming out in bursts

Symptoms

The stainless steel pressure gauge is showing low pressure despite the fully adjusted pressure regulation on the machine, water comes out in squirts from your lance and your high pressure hose vibrates.

These are common identifiers that your valves are soiled or have become sticky.

Unscrewing the valve caps from the high pressure cleaner

Taking out the valves with a long nose pliers

Cleaning the high pressure cleaner valve

How to fix:

If you are facing these issues, follow the procedure:

Start by unscrewing all the valve caps, one after the other (hexagonal brass screws, 3 in a row)

Take out the valve body and O-ring using needle nose pliers. Once it has been removed, check the O-ring for damage. If the O-ring is damaged this will need to be replaced.

Take a wire (paper clip) and clean the valves under running water to rinse out the possible soiling in the valve.

NB: Do not forget the O-ring during reassembly!

If the issue persists you can replace the valve kit, it is one of those parts that will need to be replaced after years of operating your high pressure cleaner.

NB: Pull the plug from the socket before starting any repair work!
