Selecting a pressure washer isn't just about buying the first or cheapest model you see. Different High Pressure Washer Types
Cold Water High Pressure Washers
Kranzle's cold water high pressure cleaner range is most commonly powered by an electrical power supply and are generally more affordable, easier to maintain and more simple to operate. They can be used in various application areas depending on the operating pressure and water flow of the specific pressure washer.
- Ideal for: Standard cleaning that involves removing dirt, mud and mildew from surfaces.
- Not recommended for: Cleaning grease and removing oils from surfaces.
Hot Water High Pressure Washers
Kranzle's hot water high pressure cleaner range is most commonly powered by an electrical power supply with a 400V and is generally more expensive. They can be used in various application areas depending on the operating pressure and water flow of the specific pressure washer, they offer a quicker cleaning solution as opposed to the common cold water high pressure cleaner as the hot water aids in removing grease and oil. They are most commonly bought for industrial purposes.
- Ideal for: Industrial cleaning applications, removing grease and oil as well as tougher stains.
- Not recommended for: Home and garden, light simple cleaning tasks where a cold water machine would suffice.
Petrol Pressure Washers
Kranzle's petrol high pressure washer range is most commonly used in areas where there is no electrical supply and requires a mobile cleaning option in different application areas.
- Ideal for: Industrial cleaning applications, and outdoor cleaning applications.
- Not recommended for: Indoor use due to fumes, light-duty tasks that an electrical model can handle.
Features to look for in a high pressure washer

- Good quality pump heads: Every Kranzle pump head is manufactured by Kränzle Germany from forged special brass and guarantees an extremely long service life.
Avoid buying pressure washers that have plastic, metal-plated plastic, and aluminium pumps. These may offer a cheaper buying option but will cost you more to purchase a machine more frequently and increase maintenance costs. These are not built with long-lasting or suitable materials.
- Water flow and output: Every Kranzle pump head is manufactured by Kränzle Germany from forged special brass and guarantees an extremely long service life.
For the best cleaning results, the Operating Pressure (Bar) needs the support of about 10l/min water flow rate.
Higher BAR with lower l/min can reduce the power by 50%

Lower flow rates such as the home and garden range that are around 7 l/min offer great cleaning power for most domestic cleaning tasks. This allows for water saving as less water is used.
- Stainless steel pistons with ceramic coating: All high pressure cleaners are installed with ceramic-coated stainless steel plungers. Stainless steel plungers are an excellent thermal conductor, combined with the positive characteristics of a hard ceramic coating that has low wear. This allows for long service life and less maintenance.
- Good quality seals and leakage protection: High pressure cleaners are equipped with fabric sleeves and a Teflon graphite backing ring on each plunger. The excellent lubricating properties of Teflon graphite serve to reduce both the friction and temperature inside the pump. For this reason, Kranzle pumps can run without water for quite some time without suffering any damage.
A water cushion between the high pressure seals on the plungers prevents any sucked in air from reaching the pump chamber. This increases the service life of the plungers and pump.

What quality of hose, fittings and connections does it have?
Premium pressure washers should have both the water inlet fittings that your supply hose connects to and the high pressure outlet of the pump made of brass. Plastic has the tendency to break and aluminium corrodes. This goes for all the components of the machine that come into contact with water. This goes for the same as the high pressure hoses, trigger guns and accessories they should be either brass or stainless steel. Other metals may corrode or seize up and plastic connections are weaker than brass and prone to problems.
All Kranzle high pressure washers have brass 3/4" threaded water fittings (with an in-line water filter), threaded screw-on connections that seal on an O-ring (this means it only needs to be finger tight!) on the hoses with the connection to the gun with an integrated swivel fitting. The connection of the gun and spray equipment is made of high-quality stainless-steel quick-release system.
